» kyreads - Query Letters ? On-line

I'm looking for ideas on how to grab an editor's attention via e-mail. How do you develop must-read subject lines?

Or, do you have other tips for online marketing?

Thanks.

I've only done a few e-mail queries, but my understanding is that you would use the same letter in the body of your e-mail as you would send by postal mail.

I've been told that the best thing to put in the subject line is "Query: topic" or "Query: title" so that the editor knows right off that it is a new query, not something else. Personally I would keep the "topic" part to just a few words, catchy but also self-explanitory. I don't think that's the place to get creative without telling the editor what the subject is. Good luck!
